Welcome!!!!!
Thank you for your interest in our herds. My herdname is Vanjust, Vanessa's herdname is Luvruc and Emma's herdname is Dehuene. We are located in beautiful Priest River, Idaho, about 45 miles northeast of Spokane, Washington.
A little bit about how we got into goats. I received my first goat as a wedding gift in 1994, a beautiful blue roan Nubian named Mirah. Though I did not have Mirah for very long, I was addicted to these wonderful animals and have had them in my life pretty continuously since 1999.
I was initially interested in Nubians and La Manchas, but Vanessa talked me into buying an Oberhasli dry yearling in 2001. I had no interest in that little brown goat, but I wanted her to enjoy the animals as well, so I agreed.
That first doe is one of our foundation animals. Her name was SG The Calisto’s Lila 1*M 05-05 +EEE 88
Lila’s temperament and ease about life eventually grew on me and I started to expand the Oberhasli breeding program, subsequently phasing out the Nubians and La Manchas in 2007.
I firmly believe that a buck can make or break a herd, so we are now using mostly bucks out of our own does in order to strengthen our specific style of animal, not only in type but also in milk production.
The purchase price includes ADGA registration papers, CD&T vaccines, and if age appropriate, worming. All kids are raised on pasteurized milk until 12 weeks old, offered grass and alfalfa hay and fresh water from 3 days old, and introduced to Purina Goat Grower 16 DQ at 2 weeks old. My belief is the sooner the rumen starts working, the bigger, stronger, and healthier the kids will be as adults. We ship via air or ground transport. All costs associated with shipping are the responsibility of the buyer. We do not take deposits for kids or milkers, but we do take reservations on a first come first served basis. If your desired kid/milker is born/becomes available, we will contact you. You have one week from that date of contact to get back to us and let us know if you still want your kid/milker. If we don't hear back from you within 7 days, your kid/milker will go to the next person in line. *******We reserve the right to purchase semen for the cost of collection only from any buck sold from our herd.*******
We test the herd bi-annually for CAE and have consistently tested negative for 12 years. Proof Provided upon request.
Be sure to check out our Facebook page for lots of random show and farm photos, breeding and kid updates, current CAE test results, and anything else we feel like posting about the herd.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN OUR HERD!!!!! <3
